In third meeting we learned about goal and belief and how it affects motivation of a person. Before we started activity, we discussed about the rule for students who are late. Our agreement is for anyone who is late more than 15 minutes for the third time and so on won’t allow attending the class. I hope all students in section B respect and obey the rule so none of us will be expelled from the class.
After discussed about the rule, Ms. Lydia reminded us about the assignment for school observation. We have to observe the class condition to respond to the question “How does teacher create motivating classroom to optimize students learning?” We were given the guiding question on how to make a report. By observe our master teacher; I think we can learn how to build a motivating atmosphere when we teach and how to become a motivate teacher.
In next activity, we drew ourselves in 5-10 years later. What we want to be and what we want to accomplish. In my sheet, I drew myself as a teacher, a writer, an adventurer and have a special man. After we drew, we shared each work to the class. It is great to know my friends dreams, all of them have amazing dreams. I realized how our hopes and expectations motivates us to do better, so in 5-10 years later we can achieve all of it.
Ms. Lydia divides us into some groups for next activity which is jigsaw reading. Our first group is homegroup, each members of homegroup has to read a sub topic consists of beliefs about future outcomes, beliefs about intelligence, beliefs about capability and belies about value. After read, everyone from all groups who read the same topics gather to make an expert group and discuss about the topic for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes we back to our homegroup and explain the topic we already discuss to other members.
The last activity, we write our hopes and expectations of study in SSE and learn MMSEL. Overall, I think all of the activity in third meeting is about how hopes, beiefs and expectation become and intrinsic motivation.
