Reflection of teaching experience part 2

25 Oct

In week 5, I have to teach twice time. In this two meeting, I planned to use group discussion.

First meeting, I began with recall their prior knowledge about limit that I have taught in previous meeting. I explained another concept and give some examples, after that I divided them into some groups. In one group there are 4 members, I gave them 16 exercises and each members have to do four exercises randomly. The scores will divide equally for each members.

Second meeting, I still continued the activity from previous meeting because the students not yet finish the work. After work in group they come in front of the class to do the problems.

In the end, the master teacher comment me about my teaching way. She say that my voice is too soft so it cannot be heard till the back seat row. She also say that I too impatient,I should have to angry when the behavior of the students are too uncontrollable. My weakness is that I am not a firm teacher so the students can act whatever they want.

The teacher say that the way I delivered the lesson is good, simple and understandable, but I gave them exercises that too high for them. So I have to work struggle to make them understand.

The teacher also comment that my management class is still not good. I cannot cover all the students needs and the students are too noisy. However, I did a good a job to make the students want to learn mathematics. Even though there are two students that really unmotivated to learn and I hardly make personal approach to them.

Well, that’s all my reflection about my teaching experience in week 5. I hope in next teaching experience I can do better.
