Role play as motivator

13 Dec

At the beginning of class, Ms Lidya asked us to express our feeling by showing it in our face.  Many kind of faces expression are showed, but most of it are happy expression. For me happy is the exact expression to describe our feeling before we began the lesson.

Then Ms Lidya asked us what are things that make us interest. We shared our ideas to two different person. For me, I really enjoy stories. Whether it is from movie, books or oral such as gossip, hhe… Other thing is money. Ms Lidya tell us to make students have good motivation in learning we should embed their interest into learning activity.

Next activity we are asked to perform as motivator like what we used to watch in television. In groups we discuss about how we will hold a motivation session. Then we decide our topicwill be how to erase doubt feeling  especially in becoming a teacher. We choose this topic based on phenomenom we found in some students. There are still many students who have doubt to make teacher as their profession.

Ipin is our representative from our group. We think Ipin is the most suitable person among us. One phrase that really good from my point of view is when we want to erase all negative things, then DON’T do it. Simple but difficult.

Other group performances are also interesting. There are groups who held meditation session. Other make the motivation session as talk show.  Athough we do the activity in the staircase in front of the doorway, we are not ashamed to show off.

As teacher, become a good motivator is also important. From my opinion, good motivator has to understand students feeling.

I do agree with you Ayu that as teacher, become a good motivator is also important. Good motivator has to understand students feeling. but for addition that being a good motivator has to understand what students’ need 😉

Hi Ayu, we are in that same group in that task, uyeeaay 😀
I also think that the most powerful statement from Ipin as our group representative is “If you don’t want to be lazy, just don’t be lazy. If you don’t want to be doubt, just do not doubt.”

Like you said that it is simple but hard to do it. And as teacher candidates, we not only have to inculcate that perspective into our self but also make our students have that kind of perspective. That’s our challenge and hope we can do it in the future 🙂

    Dear Ayu,

By reading your reflection, I remember something that I forgot during previous MMSEL. So, I would like to thank you for reminding me. 😀
